SMS ALERT!
Willow Glen Residents Become Super Savvy.

Watch out Generation Y!

Residents at TriCare's Willow Glen Retirement Village have just become more technologically savvy thanks to a Crazy John's mobile phone workshop.

The workshop, held in April, was a great chance for residents to learn how to use their mobile phones for such things as taking photos and sending text messages.

Daphne Parker, resident at Willow Glen Retirement Village said this was best thing that the village had ever arranged for the residents.

"This was a great opportunity to find out how to take photos on my mobile", said Daphne.

All residents at the workshop came armed with their own mobile phones and ready with a multitude of questions, they appreciated the chance to have someone willing and able to answer their queries and show them exactly how to do certain tasks.

Many of the residents who attended wanted to know similar information, but overall it was an opportunity to sort out some of those nagging issues we all often experience with our mobile phones.

Village Manager Robyn Kehoe said residents were quick to respond when the workshop was advertised in the recent Village Newsletter.

"Crazy Johns have recognized a need in the wider community to help older citizens who, like all of us from time to time, have trouble staying up to date with today's technology.

We all understand the importance of staying in touch and our mobile phones have become integral in this process.

Alise and Renee spoke to the group about the problems often experienced by older members of the community. They were able to provide useful assistance by giving the residents easy to follow instructions", said Robyn

Initiatives such as a mobile phone workshop are designed to cater to the diverse interests of the residents at Willow Glen Retirement Village and is one of the many activities the Village offers.
