TriCare takes aged care to new levels - Mermaid Beach Aged Care Residence opening!

Media: Gold Coast Bulletin

TriCare has further cemented itself as one of Queensland's leading aged care providers following the completion and opening of its $20 million Mermaid Beach facility last week.

The site located on the Gold Coast Highway has been home to TriCare's Mermaid Beach aged care facility since 1971 and over the past 19 months has been redeveloped into one of Australia's most luxurious aged care nursing centres.

TriCare's CEO Jim Toohey said at the opening of the new Mermaid Beach centre that it had set a high benchmark for aged accommodation in Australia.

"The Mermaid Beach facility is unique and offers premium surrounds and service," said Mr Toohey.

"The demand for state of the art, aged care facilities is growing as the expectations of the next generation of the elderly are far greater than the previous.

"The $20 million project has seen a complete redevelopment of the property and the new facility will cater for 74 residents.

"From luxurious suites, complete with ensuites, to private dining rooms, library and cafe, TriCare has made a significant investment into this facility to ensure a high quality of life for every resident."

TriCare operates thirteen residential aged care nursing centres and four hostels and six retirement villages across southeast Queensland. They also operate one retirement village in Melbourne. As a private, Queensland-owned company, TriCare boasts a team of committed professionals and Board Members with years of aged care experience. TriCare Directors are actively involved in the day-to-day management of the company, further demonstrating their ongoing commitment to the aged care industry.
