Assistant Accountant

Established for 50 years, TriCare is one of Queensland’s largest private owners and managers of retirement communities and aged care residences.

TriCare’s Accounting Services Division is seeking a full time Assistant Accountant to work at our Head Office in Mt Gravatt on Brisbane’s Southside.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and highly motivated Assistant Accountant working to assist the Senior Accountant and the Finance department by completing a broad range of financial administration duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing of Government Funding Accrual and reconciliation
  • Assist with the reconciliation and refund of Aged Care Bonds and Refundable Accommodation Deposits
  • Assist accounting team in preparation of monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis reporting
  • Reconcile nominated general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers on a monthly basis
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory and statistical returns/reporting as required
  • Assist with the preparation of yearly budgets
  • Other ad-hoc duties

Key requirements, skills and experience:

  • Minimum3 years’ experience in an accounting/bookkeeping role for a large entity
  • Moderate to high level accounting/bookkeeping skills for large complex organisations
  • Experience with Epicor desirable
  • Aged care experience desirable
  • Verbal and written skills of a high standard
  • Problem solving and analytical ability
  • Organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work
  • Ability to liaise with all levels in the organisation
  • Advanced level skills in MS Excel –moderate to advanced skills in MS Word.
