Personal Care Worker

Established for 50 years, TriCare is one of Queensland’s largest private owners and managers of retirement communities and aged care residences.

TriCare’s Mermaid Beach Aged Care Residence, a modern 81 bed facility located on the Gold Coast Highway in Mermaid Beach, has a vacancy for an experienced casual Personal Care Worker.

You will be Certificate III qualified and be able to undertake varied shifts. Night duty and weekend shifts attract penalty rates according to the Aged Care Award 2010. As a casual employee, your pay rate is boosted with the 25% casual loading. All employees receive a uniform and laundry allowance.

Rosters are planned a fortnight in advance, but we appreciate your flexibility in filling additional shifts at times with short notice. You can set your availability in the Emprevo App on your mobile phone to allow managers/team leaders to offer shifts to you.

Reporting to the registered/clinical nurse on shift, you will provide exemplary care to the residents. Essential criteria for this role include:

  • Possession of a Certificate III in Individual Support/Aged Care;
  • 6 months’ experience in paid employment for an aged care provider;
  • Reliability, flexibility and working as a positive team member;
  • Demonstrated resident advocacy, ensuring dignity for residents; and
  • Adept at using tablet-based electronic clinical management systems.

Evidence of Flu Vaccination and at least 1 dose of a COVID-19 vaccination are mandatory requirements of the role.

TriCare offers access to fully funded training and career development opportunities.  Many of our Personal Care Workers have progressed to enrolled nurse or registered nurse positions through our career development program. In addition, you will have access to our corporate superannuation and health funds, both offering a range of benefits.

Apply now on SEEK, addressing your application to the Facility Manager.

Closing Date:  Friday, 8 October 2021.

A satisfactory Police Clearance Certificate is required according to the Aged Care Act 1997.

Our aged care residences are non-smoking workplaces.

TriCare does not consider applications received through, or from, recruiters.
