Our residents were given a wonderful opportunity to mingle with the stars at the opening of the newly refurbished theatre earlier this month at TriCare Hastings Point Retirement Community.
The twenty celebrities hitting the red carpet gave off their busy film production schedules to attend the night of glitz, bubbles and glamour! Thanks must be given to them and all the behind-the-scene helpers.
Our stars included Marilyn Munroe, Judy Garland, Mia Farrow, Woody Allen , Candy Girl, Dame Edna, Robert De Niro , Shirley Maclaine, Frank Sinatra, Audrey Hepburn, Luciano Pavarotti, Kate Winslet, Charlie Chaplin, Ginger Rogers, Groucho Marx, Benny Hill, Jackie Wright, Bing Crosby and Bob Hope, and last but not least Marlon Brando.
With the support of Chanel 10, we were able to organise hosting of the event by TV presenter Angela Bishop (our Village Manager) who did a wonderful job introducing our stars and presenting the Oscars.
The attendance was overwhelming, with some attired in their finest as is expected at these Oscar events.
It really was a night of nights enjoyed by all!
