Our superior single rooms feature a beautiful ensuite and space for a comfortable sitting area. Our premium single rooms boast a luxury ensuite, modern furnishings and a kitchenette including a pantry and mini-fridge along with stunning views of the neighbouring lake and parkland.

Relax, knowing Upper Mt Gravatt Aged Care Registered Nurses and qualified Carers are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can have complete peace of mind with our emergency call system.

An aged care home, such as TriCare Upper Mount Gravatt, is a supportive community that provides residential accommodation and healthcare services for seniors and individuals who require assistance with daily living due to illness, disability, or frailty. It’s also commonly referred to as an aged care residence, aged care facility, or nursing home.

People may choose to move to an aged care home for various reasons, including illness or disability that makes it difficult to manage daily tasks, an emergency situation that requires immediate support, increasing pressure on family carers, or difficulty managing daily tasks without assistance.

At TriCare Upper Mt Gravatt, our residents receive personalised support with daily tasks such as meal preparation and assistance, cleaning and laundry services, personal care including showering, dressing, and grooming, 24-hour nursing care from qualified nursing staff, medication management, continence care, and wound care and treatment.

In addition to these essential services, we offer specialised care and support for complex health conditions, including memory-support care and palliative care. The Australian Government subsidises a range of aged care homes in Australia. This means affordable care and support services can be accessed by those who need it. The subsidies are paid directly to the aged care home.

The amount of funding that a home receives is based on:

an assessment of your care needs by the home (using a tool called the Aged Care Funding Instrument or ACFI)
how much you can afford to contribute to the cost of your care and accommodation (using an income and assets assessment) To get the funding, subsidised aged care homes have to meet Aged Care Quality Standards to ensure quality care and services are provided.

Aged care funding and fees can be complex, but they generally involve a combination of government support and personal contributions. To determine the appropriate fees and funding, residents must undergo a financial assessment. This assessment considers both income and assets, including property, savings, and investments. Here is a breakdown of how it typically works.

Basic Daily Fee: Covers daily living costs such as meals, cleaning, and laundry. It is set at 85% of the single basic age pension rate.
Means-Tested Fee: An additional contribution based on an income and assets assessment. This fee has annual and lifetime caps.
Accommodation Costs: Payment for accommodation can be made as a lump sum (Refundable Accommodation Deposit or RAD), a daily payment (Daily Accommodation Payment or DAP), or a combination of both. Government assistance may be available for eligible individuals

Our new premium accommodations built in 2020 boast 35m2 of contemporary style with modern furnishings and décor akin to a hotel suite. Many boast floor to ceiling windows with superior water or garden views.

These rooms are light and airy with space for lounge seating for guests, ample storage, a large wall-mounted smart TV, kitchenette with tea/coffee making facilities, pantry, mini-fridge and stone benchtop, desk, wi-fi, spacious private ensuite with walk-in shower, a modern vanity unit, contemporary tapware and European décor.

Adding to your comfort is a German designed and built automated king single bed, electronic ceiling hoist, architecturally designed bedhead and premium care monitoring systems.

Superior Rooms

Our superior accommodations in the original building have been fully refurbished. These private rooms with ensuite are approximately 25sqm complemented by traditional yet elegantly understated décor.

They include a king-single automated bed, recliner chair, overbed table, reverse cycle air conditioning, wall-mounted TV, armchair for visitors, ample storage, floor-to-ceiling windows, and an emergency call system.
