Independent Living Units

Independent living in Box Hill is the right choice for you when you are capable of managing the day-to-day tasks but no longer want to worry about home and garden maintenance.
A serviced apartment is a more suitable choice if you prefer independent living that provides assistance for heavy laundry, housekeeping and some meals.
We design our retirement communities to maximise resident involvement. Every community has a Resident Committee that represents them in social activities, community consultation and many other community functions.
We are here for you, managing the community so you can enjoy the retirement lifestyle you have been waiting for. Approach us with any questions and requests you may have, and we will do our best to assist.
Our TriCare retirement village in Box Hill has a range of facilities and activities, including swimming pools, a library, bowls and many more. These facilities are available for use at no cost to residents and their guests, though guests must be accompanied by a resident at all times.
The management team or Resident Committee organises optional activities which may attract a participation fee.
We understand your pet is part of your family, so you can have a small pet in any independent living unit. Please note, pet approval is subject to terms and conditions.
A great place to live. Very friendly residents, fantastic staff and many enjoyable activities. Great location, close to the park, swimming pool, public transport. Short distance to many shops. The community has rallied around during COVID and virtual activities, morning walk if you want to exercise, newsletters etc. have ensured that residents have been kept informed and had something to do. Best move ever!

Hayville Retirement Community is a very special place to live in. I have lived here for over 2 years and I have enjoyed every single day. All the residents are very friendly and we are all like one big happy family. Normally we have lots of different activities which you can join in if you wish. There is a craft group that meets fortnightly, Bingo every week, games each week, a writing group, exercises and tai chi, monthly dinners and many other activities. Everyone is young at heart and very welcoming. The units are very comfortable and the gardens are well-tended and very attractive. I have no hesitation in recommending Hayville Retirement Community.

My wife Elizabeth and I have been living In Hayville Retirement Community for fifteen years. Hayville is a wonderful community and we have made a number of close friends. Hayville has wide roads and good gardens. Over the years we have gone on holidays and the unit is safe. There are lots of activities when the Main Hall is open and even now, during the lockdown, a group of residents “The Walkers” are able to meet each day and walk around the village.

Hayville is a very friendly welcoming community set in beautiful gardens with wide streets. Great location, close proximity to shops, clubs with public transport on our doorstep. The community centre hosts many activities such as dinners/lunches, happy hour, tai chi, indoor bowls, bingo, to name just a few. Relocating to Hayville in 2019 was a good move.

My parents have been residents of Hayville Retirement Village (Tricare) for over just over a year. The staff at Hayville, and in particular The Village Manager helped make what could have been a traumatic experience so much easier and the process was quite seamless. The Village is set in a beautifully maintained garden setting with individual units each with its own garage. My parents couldn’t be happier with the move.

As a resident of Hayville Retirement Community I can tell people who are looking at villages that the residents here are all friendly with a relaxed attitude, different events are organised every week through the Social Committee so there is no need to feel lonely. The Village is an older style so therefore has beautiful gardens and plenty of space. Each Unit has their own back garden and garage, with 5 different styles of units.
Hayville is positioned in Box Hill South Victoria and is walking distance to everything, one being that ‘Surrey Park’ opposite with beautiful parklands. Aqualink, which covers so many people’s needs and Surrey dive a tranquil lake to sit around …(on Wednesdays and Sundays the Mini boat club sail their boats), plus a picnic area and play equipment.
Hayville has its own Minibus, but just outside the door 3 bus services pass by. There are 2 tram services as well as Box Hill train station and shops are an easy walk, also Aldi is at the end of the next block.

I moved into Hayvile 15 years ago. The best move ever! Never been so contented.

I have lived at Hayville Community in Box Hill Victoria for several years.
We have a real “Village ”atmosphere as all homes are at ground level which becomes an incentive to get out and walk around the property and also to have contact with other residents.
You can be as involved as you want and many activities are regularly planned for residents. Our manager and staff can always advise you ‘what’s on.’
Hayville Community is located in an attractive suburban area and we are very fortunate to have nearby hospitals, medical services and shopping areas in an area that is going ahead!
I say to friends that “Independent Living” means that I can live in my own house, which happens to be located in a retirement community and in a very friendly environment. I don’t think you could be bored at Hayville, I know I’m not!
