TriCare’s Bayview Aged care home, located in Gold Coast North, is recruiting for an experienced permanent fulltime Handyman Officer.
Reporting to the Facility Manager and supported by the Maintenance Supervisor at TriCare’s Head Office in Brisbane, you will ensure reliable, ongoing operation of plant and equipment and undertake all building maintenance.
Qualifications & experience
- Previous hands-on experience in the maintenance/building and construction industry.
- Carpentry, tiling, painting, plastering, labouring, property maintenance or handyman skills/experience.
- Show evidence of your eligibility to work in Australia.
- White card would be an advantage.
- Undertake a Police Check.

- Proven ability to manage projects in a set time frame with limited supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Impeccable personal presentation.
- A can-do attitude and an ability to work with limited supervision within our team.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills to ensure each job is carried out efficiently and with consistent attention to detail.
- Carry out each job to an excellent standard and ensure our care home look is 100% satisfied with the work completed.
As an experienced handyperson, you will be competent in performing a wide range of maintenance tasks from simply changing light bulbs to the more difficult jobs such as repairs to cabinetry, painting and more. You will be experienced in carrying out maintenance work in commercial environments.
Further, you will be able to demonstrate good verbal communication and a respectful manner with residents, families, colleagues, and contractors.
