Maintenance Officer – Full Time – Retirement Village


riCare is one of the Queensland’s leading privately owned retirement communities and aged care residences.

Permanent, full time, handyman required 5 days per week for our Toowoomba Retirement Community. We are seeking a team player to who is reliable and motivated to maintain our well presented community.

Providing handyman services including repairs and maintenance you will report to the Village Manager.

Occasionally, you may also take the captain’s seat to drive our 21 seat village bus, where required. If you don’t have a MR licence, that’s ok, we are happy to train the right person.

The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, and take ownership to make the village a better place.

General tasks

Maintenance
Use of common hand power tools
Oversee contractors
Generally Fit – lift up to 20kg and access roof cavity
Pool Monitoring
Basic use of Email, internet, scanning and copying
Assist with audits of the retirement community.
Support gardens and grounds Maintenance
Backup bus driver


To be successful in this role, you will possess:

DIY handy skills & safe use of hand tools
A positive attitude
Ability to diagnose and find solutions to maintenance issues reported
Great communication and customer service skills
General knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety procedures
Current First Aid qualifications (i.e. if not, must obtain prior to appointment).
Working at Heights and Confined Spaces ticket (desirable but we are happy to provide training).
