System Administrator

TriCare’s Mt Gravatt Head Office is looking for a full-time, permanent Systems Administrator to look after our core systems for over 2000 users.  We’re 98% in the cloud, so there is little physical infrastructure to look after.  The company continues to grow organically, with multiple new facilities on the horizon.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, we’re looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • Takes initiative and looks for ways to make things run better
  • Knows that IT serves the business and looks for ways to help
  • Sees a problem and wants to fix it
  • Provides good triage – what is most important first?
  • Knows that IT is there to run business applications, not to consume electricity and generate heat
  • Comfortable working on things they can’t touch – SaaS, IaaS, PaaS; we have no core Windows infrastructure on premise – it’s all in Azure
  • Prefers to manage his or her own time and tasks rather than be micro-managed
  • Would rather be too busy than bored
  • Believes they can do a good day’s work between 8:30 and 5:00, Monday to Friday and the only time to work outside those hours is when we need to limit the impact of changes to the business
  • Believes that automating every task is the goal (even if it’s not 100% achievable)
  • Believes that customer service is as important as technical knowledge

You will possess the following skills, experience, and attributes:

  • Confident and positive attitude
  • Knowledgeable, while still being curious to learn
  • Personable, while still getting your work completed
  • Technical requirement (Windows 10 & 11, Windows Server 2016, 2019 & 2022, Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, backups)

Benefits of joining us:

  • Permanent full-time position with a good remuneration package
  • Friendly workplace culture with onsite car parking and located a short distance from Westfield Garden City.
  • Live and work your values for a company that provides back to the community and cares about people.
  • Discounted Health Care Insurance
  • Monthly Morning Tea is an opportunity to network with colleagues across the other departments.
  • Socialise every Friday afternoon with drinks of all kinds.
  • There are multiple projects and initiatives planned to get involved in.

Being a family-owned company, if you have a good idea, there are only a few people you need to collaborate and they all work in the same building as you. If you can lay out a case to support the idea, there is a good chance it will get legs.

Apply online now via SEEK to Sean Callahan, Chief Information Officer.  A cover letter, while not mandatory, indicates you’ve read the job ad.
